A resolute Rosalind Kimani-Gichuru, Coca-Cola Business Unit Strategic Marketing Manager explained during the exclusive worldwide premiere of the new music television series dubbed “Coke Studio Africa.”

Bringing together artists from different genres, eras and regions to create a modern and authentic African sound, Coke Studio Africa takes viewers on an impressive musical journey from the perspective of the artists.

Set to air Saturday, October 5th, Season one of Coke Studio Africa will see a line-up of legendary African artists such as Salif Keita and King Sunny Ade collaborate with rising stars such as MI, Waje, Jimmy Jatt, Bez, Octopizzo, Miss Karun, Just a Band, Hip Hop Pantsula, Tumi, Boddhi Satva, Diamond Platinumz, Lady Jaydee, Joel Sebunjo, Qwela, Lillian Mbabazi and Culture Music Club.  The impressive roster recorded a total of fifty songs.

The Coke Studio concept, which originates from Brazil, first aired in March 2007.  Receiving critical acclaim in Pakistan, India and the Middle East; Coke Studio Africa, which will air in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Nigeria – is set to mark a new phase in African music, one which unites the continent.
