(By Njamio) Spring collections are out and prints are trending, dressing prints on a curvy frame can get complicated.
The go to person for inspiration when it comes to prints out there is Solange Knowles who loves prints and is almost always hitting the red carpet in some bright colored prints. I found this white ankle length pants with blue prints from Lanebryant.com decided to do a three way tutorial.
The office look:
We should sometimes come out of the box, stun your coworkers and show up in something other than the normal plain colored skirt suit or dress pants. I paired the pants with a printed red shirt (blue always goes great with red) and due to a chilly day, a casual sweatshirt got transformed to bring the outfit together with black booties appropriate or the workplace.
*Depends on your career in order to pull this off, might not be suitable for the likes of lawyers….etc
Market day/Casual look:
If you were dashing out the house to run some quick errands and didn’t want to look drab but also didn’t want to put too much effort into an outfit, throw on your printed pants for some color. I draped on an oversize scarf over my shoulders with a tank top underneath and a vintage belt to keep it in place and voilà! A quick home crafted top! Some flats to make running around easy. For accessories I used an oversize tote from Maasai market.
Date night/Happy hour with the girls
For this look I picked up my burgundy lace blazer with a white tank underneath and burgundy suede platform sandals- bold colors always goes well with color-old accessories and a blue woven clutch. For a night out wearing the print pants pair them with a solid color blazer or plain top, since the pants already have a lot going on you don’t want to overdo it.
*you can wear print according to your trouble areas, if you have large breasts and would like to minimize them wear a print top and solid pants or vice versa.
Keep it curvy and confident
