Johnny Gill jets in tonight for Carnivore show

Johnny ‘The Voice’ Gill is due in Nairobi this evening, his first trip ever to Kenya where he will be the show stopper at the Tusker Lite Experience on Saturday.

The plane carrying Gill, who was an integral part of RnB bands New Edition and LSG, will touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 8pm.

Gill is the second artist to grace the Tusker Lite experience this year, after a thrilling performance by American singer Joe Thomas at the Bomas of Kenya in March.

This time, the Carnivore Grounds have been set aside for the event, dubbed ‘experience’ due to the intimate feel of it.

“We want to make sure that the fans get as close to the musicians as possible. We want it to be a special experience for them,” said Caroline Ndung’u, the Marketing Director for EABL Kenya.

State of the art sound and stage equipment, and spectacular lighting will compliment the lounge feel created by decorators.

In the theme colours of white and green, plush seats surrounding the stage will ensure that guests are comfortable as they experience ‘The Voice’.

VIP tickets to the event, worth Sh5,000, were the first to sell out, and several stores where the tickets could be purchased have also had their ticket books wiped out.

Close to 2,000 guests are expected when the curtains go up on Saturday evening, at approximately 7pm.

No tickets will be sold at the gate.
