2Face, Papa Wemba and AY in Nairobi Friday

The Airtel Rising Stars will cap off their tournament this weekend with a mega-concert featuring Nigerian award winner 2Face, Congolese superstar Papa Wemba, Tanzanian rapper AY and Kenya’s own Daddy Owen.

The concert at the City Stadium will take place even as Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel is in the country, under the same umbrella.

The musicians have all performed in Kenya before and form part of a troupe appointed as this year’s brand ambassadors for the mobile service provider.

The three non-Kenyans arrive in Nairobi tomorrow to ready for the concert, before they make their way to an exclusive listening party for 2face’s latest album, Away and Beyond, on Saturday evening.

Festivities begin at 2pm and tickets will cost Sh600 for the Grand Stand area and Sh300 for the terrace. To top that off, everyone who buys a terrace ticket will get a Sh250 Airtel scratch card.

This is Daddy Owen’s first major event with Airtel since he was signed up two months ago.

Apart from the concerts, the gospel singer is hoping to ride on Airtel’s network to push his campaign for better care for persons with disabilities in Kenya.
