The real meaning of ‘Blue Ivy,’ Beyonce posts

Under the ‘I Am’ section of her website where Beyonce shares her life through her eyes, a new poem posted on the section, Rebecca Solnit’s Field Guide to Getting Lost, perhaps, reveals why Blue Ivy is named the way she’s named.

Any doting parent would wish nothing but a boundless world for their child, a world full of possibilities – where a child can reach to the ends of the universe and accomplish anything.

“The world is blue at its edges and in its depths,” the poem reads.

In another snippet, “But deep water is full of this scatted light, the purer the water the deeper the blue.”

Children have the purest of hearts and intentions.  Perhaps, ‘Blue Ivy’ means purity?

And here’s Capital Lifestyle’s favourite snippet from the quote, “This light does not touch us, does not travel the whole distance, the light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the colour blue.”

So, beauty is in the colour blue.  Guess Blue Ivy is full of beauty then!
