Mobile business app launched in Kenya

A mobile app that helps users find important information on starting a business and investment opportunities has been launched. The ‘Doing Biz in Kenya’ app is available for download in the Nokia Store.

The app gives procedures on how to start and maintain a business, including information getting necessary documents for your business. Doing Biz in Kenya aims to reduce the risks associated with starting a business in Kenya by providing information to novice and experienced entrepreneurs.

The app also gives current business trends and investment opportunities available in the country.

Developed by local IT company, Shimba Technologies, Doing Biz in Kenya has seven sections; Start a Business, Investment opportunities, Trading across borders, Registering property, opening a branch in Kenya, help and about.

The app will help users navigate on crucial business procedures such as PIN and VAT registration, National Social Security Fund and cost implications of the process.

The Trading across borders section gives you information on the documentation needed to export products. It also lets you know how much it costs, the duration for customs clearance and any other information relevant to you.

For foreign investors, the ‘Opening a Kenyan Branch’ section gives a list of documentation needed and steps for certification.
