Seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

Rooney Mara carries her Dragon Tattoo perfectly in the latest adaptation of the Swedish novel: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Though not much reference is made of the tattoo, Rooney’s oddities and misplaced social etiquette are part of why the movie is a MUST WATCH this month.

A thriller based on investigating a 40-year old unsolved murder, Rooney teams up very strangely with James Bond star Daniel Craig, who plays an ‘alcoholic’ genius that requires the girl’s help.

Her tattoos, piercings and bad manners make her the kind of person you easily ignore. It is this lack of attention that accentuates her role as an unlikely sleuth.

If you though Daniel was bad news in Casino Royale, Rooney makes him look like an old man in this fast-paced thriller, directed by David Fincher.

Fincher has accolades a mile long with films like The Game, Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac and The Social Network among his list of projects.

The movie has graphic and disturbing sex and murder scenes, and in the course of the investigation more and more gruesome decapitations are unearthed.

When watching this movie, which closes this week at Fox Theatres, make sure you have a sound mind, strong stomach, comfortable company and a massive bucket of popcorn.

Rooney lost a Golden Globe award to the iconic Meryl Streep, but I’m hoping there’s more exhilarating onscreen performances by the young US actress.

According to Wikipedia, Rooney oversees a charity called Uweza Aid Foundation in Nairobi’s Kibera slum, which supports empowerment programmes.
