Dela, Neema to headline for Donell Jones

Dela and Neema will add a little female charm to the intimate concert laid out for fans of Donell Jones at the Nairobi National Park on Friday.

The female divas whose strong vocals need no introduction will kick off the festivities at the exclusive concert, sponsored by EABL’s newest baby Tusker Lite beer.

The music is meant to complement the great taste of the beer, and effectively usher in the new beverage (low carbs)!

Dela, who is signed by local record label Penya, will sample some of her latest tracks during the concert.

“Apart from a few of my hits from my debut album, I have a few of my newer songs like Chocolate Chains and It’s a Mystery that I will be performing. Those are just some of the new songs that I have been working on.”

Dela has almost all of Donell’s albums on her phone, and when asked to share a stage with him she initially thought it was a joke.

“This is amazing for me.”

Gospel singer Neema says she has a few surprises lined up, but can take requests on twitter (@neemantalel) ahead of final rehearsals on Thursday.

“I will be doing a few songs from my latest record,” she tweeted.

Donell touches down in Nairobi on Thursday night and will be revving up his musical juices on Friday in preparation for the concert.

Fans are snapping up tickets for the event at all Dormans outlets at Sh2,500 each. Tickets can also be purchased online on pesapal.

“Only advance tickets are being sold, there will be none at the door. We want to make it intimate, exclusive and very memorable,” said Capital FM Programmes Controller Somoina Kimojino.
