Indian Week at The Thorn Tree Café

August 15, 2011 – Last week was Italian, the week before that was American, and the time before that was Kenyan; what can diners expect from The Thorn Tree Café this week?  An Indian culinary adventure.

Featuring popular Indian culinary classics stretching from the North to the South of the country, Indian Week at The Thorn Tree Café is definitely a must-go lunch destination!

The culinary team at Sarova Stanley has once again outdone themselves.  Your 3-course Indian special begins with a lightly spiced Tomato Shorba soup, which undoubtedly will tickle your palettes just enough to make you wanting more.

For your mains, you can choose from Mari Methi Chicken, Shai Dum Aloo, Gosht Kali Mirch and Hydrabad Paneer; all accompanied with rice, naan, papad and assorted chutneys.

For meat lovers, you’ll definitely enjoy the tender and mildly spiced Mari Methi Chicken and the juicy lamb in spicy black pepper sauce (Gosht Kali Mirch).

For vegetarians, Shai Du Aloo or stuffed potatoes with Masala vegetables is a hardy choice and the Hydrabad Paneer is always a healthy option of cottage cheese tossed in garlic and ginger.

To complete the Indian-themed lunch is the rich milk-based homemade Indian ice cream – Kulfi Falooda.  Great for neutralizing the spices from the meal, the creamy ice cream calms your palette and is the perfect ending to a flavourful savoury meal.
