Aug 10, 2011 – Tusker All Star fans have only 24 hours to vote for their favourite contestant as the seven-week musical spectacular winds up this weekend.
Viewers from across the region – Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda – will have the last chance to ensure the Star that shines the brightest makes it to the top three.
The outcome of the votes will be revealed at the Grand Finale of Tusker All Stars show on Sunday, August 14.
If the past seven weeks are anything to go by, Alpha, Davis and Msechu (in that order) own the top three slots and chances are this will be the verdict come end week.
In their last gasp effort to get a vote the eight contestants last weekend performed their own compositions, seeking to woo the audiences across the region.
As the Series Music Director, Victor Seii joined in, Alpha sang “Mama”, a song dedicated to mothers all over Africa.
“Up next was Caroline, singing her own composition, “Njakubera Naawe” meaning “I would be with you always”.
Ngangalito was next on stage with his song, “Mama” with Tim Rimbui and ‘Ma3’ backing him up with a reggae beat.
Kenyan songbird, Patricia was up next with her own piece of music titled, “Ngoma”. She started off slowly atop a box on stage but picked up tempo when she let it go as the backup vocalists joined in the infectious dancing.
Msechu was next on stage with his own composition, “Njoo”, before making way for the dancing queen, Amileena with a forties inspired song entitled, “I want it all”.
Davis then came on with his own master piece” Yegwe” after which Mr Swag Hemedy rounded it with his own composition entitled, “Brown Colour”.
Brown colour? Anyway, time to vote! Send the star’s Tusker number to 8009 for persons in Kenya and Uganda. Viewers in Rwanda can use 7333 while those in Tanzania should send the text to 15324.
