Indeed the whole National Youth training programme needs to be dramatically expanded. Recruit as many youth as possible from the counties who cannot afford to complete or transition to either secondary or university. They will undergo discipline and be imparted with a wide range of technical and business skills upto diploma level. Merge all Youth Polytechnics to this programme and create camps in all counties. This is how we will reduce the crisis of idleness that is causing not just drug abuse but a ready pool of recruits to crime.
Nice article. I agree with the NYS revamp. But problem is that we have criminals as our leaders; dp ruto and p uhuru and all good will the citizenry had has been eroded. Raila and Kalonzo would have taken this country far as people respect and love them (Majority of the Country). They have such Goodwill and would have awoken Kenyans’ sense of patriotism and love for their country. There is peace on the outside but inside people are seething; case in point; Nyayo Stadium wasn’t full during Madaraka Day celebrations; Uhuru Park was not even half full during Labour Day celebrations….
A criminal is a convicted individual, no conviction has taken place let alone what will effectively be sham trials, neither is there a likelihood of any success apart from that in side shows ever happening for the OTP. What remains is the wishful thinking of the miserable loosers who harbor sour grapes and who reveal in the thought that the election is yet to take place and its still campaign season. The loosers did not carry the majority, its that plain and simple. Seething? Indeed the plan to instigate violent reactions through irresponsible utterances and incitement failed rather miserably this time around.
continue justifying election thuggery and ethic mobilisation and politics of lies and demonising individuals with you long winded comments.Be Blessed my brother
I’am Living proof and alumni of NYS,It’s is the best institution to nature youth especially for those who never went to school or felt difficulties in their higher learning education.Long Live NYS.
