Usher and Keri Hilson for TPF 5!

June 9, 2011 – Usher Raymond and Keri Hilson will be at the Carnivore gardens in August courtesy of EABL, through its reality TV offering Tusker Project Fame.

The RnB stars will feature in a concert dubbed “Tusker All Stars” which will also involve contestants at this year’s edition of TPF.

To celebrate its new look ‘Stand Tall’ bottle, Tusker will mimic Big Brother’s big idea of an All Star episode, bringing together the popular contestants from all the past Projects Fame.

The eight contestants who were selected based on ‘popularity and career progression’ are: Alpha Rwirangira (Rwanda), Bernard Nganga aka ‘Ngangalito’, Patricia Kihoro, and Amileena Mwenesi (Kenya), heartthrob Hemedy Suleiman and Peter Msechu (Tanzania) and Tusker Project Fame season 4 winner Davis Ntare (Uganda) plus his compatriot Caroline Nabulime.

Giving insight on the upcoming show, EABL Group Marketing Director Debra Mallowah said: “The Tusker All Stars will represent a return to their African roots for the two international artists. It also marks a breaking of the glass ceiling for East Africa’s entertainment scene as our very own share a stage with some of the biggest names in global entertainment.”

The show kicks off on June 26 and run for eight weeks until August 14, six days before the mega concert.

Since most of the All Stars have already gone through the basics, TPF season 5 will place little emphasis on singing skills.

The challenge for the All Star contestants will be to convince TPF viewers from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to vote them as the top three singers who will perform on stage with Usher and Keri.

The musical extravaganza of sorts will enhance Tusker’s massive investment in upcoming music talent and will also compliment the new look bottle, which has cost them more than Sh1 billion to re-launch.

“Music has always been a part of the Tusker heritage and with Tusker All Stars, we’re moving to a whole new level of consumer engagement. It’s one of the ways we are showing appreciation to loyal Tusker consumers.”

Since its debut in 2006, TPF has produced a legion of music superstars and personalities including names like Valerie Kimani, Wendy Kimani and Nakaya.
