Because it’s really cold in the mornings…

June 9, 2011 – I bet you’ve all noticed the weather trend i Nairobi. Viciously cold in the morning and warmer through the day. This means that you can get deceived to dress like an Eskimo, and then end up looking so out of place for the rest of the day.

There’s a way you can play tricks on the weather instead of it playing you.

Here goes:

Don’t pull out those feisty boots of yours just yet. Yes, avoid wearing boots at this time (especially the really heavy ones). You might just melt up when the sun comes up (the heat inside the boots does not forgive).

I know most of us have those fabulous new boots in our closet that we can’t wait to rock but you might just have to hold your urge to show them off until the weather trend is certain that it’s going to be cold all through. We want to avoid looking wrong at the right place. When it gets all grey and gloomy the whole day for at least two days than you can pull out those feisty boots and wear them with all the confidence in the world.

Invest in those cute/stylish sweaters/light trench coats and cardigans. You will not only look comfortable but all stylish and with it.

You can never go wrong with a blazer. Just make sure it’s the right fit. (Note: this is stuff you can wear and easily get out of later).

Ladies, you might not want to put away those skirts and dresses just yet. For the office look, invest in some panty hose which you can remove later when the sun comes up.

For the casual look, invest in half lycra/ half cotton leggings which will keep you warm…avoid pairing up skirts and leggings…that look is just tacky!

Light scarves/pashminas and gloves are the easy way to go. When it gets hot, you just toss them aside when they’ve done the work. Just get the right colours to match your clothes. You can never go wrong with a pair of black gloves.

Beat that morning cold stylishly 🙂
