Manou Gallo to perform at Blankets & Wine

May 30, 2011 – The upcoming June edition of Blankets & Wine sponsored by KCB Advantage will be headlined by an Ivory Coast Diva.

Slated to take place on June 5, 2011 at the Leisure Gardens, Mamba Village – Karen, Ivory Coast’s Manou Gallo will be headlining the 26th edition of Blankets & Wine.

Manou Gallo was born in Divo, Ivory Coast and started performing at 12 years old.  With three solo albums under her belt, Gallo has flourished as a solo artist after her days in groups, theatre and dance troupes.

Gallo’s first solo album “Dida” debuted in 2003 and received much praise and interest from the music community in Africa and Europe.  Her albums “Manou Gallo” in 2007 and “Lowlin” in 2010 then followed.

Gallo sings in Dida, French and English and expresses herself in a musical fusion of Afrobeat, funk and world music.

Other artists to look forward to are: Ma3, a quirky afro pop band; Muthoni the Drummer Queen, an MTV MAMA Nominee; and the popular quartet Sauti Sol.
