Your signature scent can make or break you

April 28, 2011 – I once read somewhere that “your fragrance communicates as much about you as your skin, voice, and smile, so you should always ensure that it’s speaking well of you.” A statement I agree with 100%. I mean you can’t hang out for 5 minutes with someone who stinks. So again I will repeat that having a signature scent (and a good one at that) is mandatory! If you don’t trust yourself then you can always go perfume shopping with someone to give you a second opinion (but “your” final decision should count).

Still on choosing your fragrance
Light colognes and eau du toilettes in citrus are ideal for warmer weather while Parfum classics in heavy florals are best for cold weather.
It is always good to consider other people. I mean, if you are going to get in an elevator or sit in a meeting in a small enclosed room wearing an overpowering perfume, leaving everyone you come across sneezing or maybe worse, then there’s something wrong with you. It is important to be appropriately fragrant.

There are all sorts of perfumes with different bases like the fresh greens, oriental spicy woody ambry and floral fruity.
Since, I’m trying to make us all smell pleasant then this will come in really handy.
Switch your perfume. Don’t just wear one perfume all year round. Temperatures can affect a scent. Cold temperatures reduce the intensity of the perfume so wear stronger scents in the winter.

When starting a new perfume always use it on only one small area of skin. If there is an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients it’s the safest way to find out. After about an hour, without a reaction, then its safe to wear the perfume.

Keep your perfume fresher longer by storing it in a cool, dark, place. Sunlight and direct heat will interfere with the oils in the perfume.

Well, I also read somewhere It has been said that … “two people can’t possibly maintain a relationship if they cant stand each others scent. So in a way the perfume industry, in its own way, promotes love and happiness”.So you can spoil yourself a bit when it comes to perfumes. You can make that your guilty pleasure.
A good perfume can cheer you up, a bad one can dampen your mood and remember that just because it’s a designer perfume it doesn’t have to smell nice. Choose wisely.

Last tip: For optimal freshness, keep your fragrance in its box. Fragrances should last three years past the manufacturer’s date after that it just smells different… in a bad way.
