MAC peeps VS. PC peeps

April 27, 2011 – It seems that Mac users and PC users have always been quite protective about their choice of hardware since the first Macintosh was born in 1984.

Macintosh, or Mac as we now call it, was the first personal computer to feature a mouse. Macs success dissipated in the 1990s as the personal computer market made a huge shift towards IBM PC compatible machines.

In the late 1990s Mac revitalized its brand with the sales success of the iMac and never looked back.

PC or Mac?  Not exactly a debate you want to start on your first date.  It may just turn ugly.

Windows advocates will start accusing Mac believers of being victims of great advertising campaigns and part of a fancy-pants cult.  Mac advocates will accuse Windows users of being owners of generic junk.  Since when did geek squabbles become so undignified?

Both Apple and Microsoft have pushed its share of contentious television ads that have gone viral on the internet.  But what does it really mean to be a Mac person and a PC person?

THE ANSWER, a website that recommends all sorts of topics through user-curated content and algorithms has produced an “infograph” to shed some light on the PC vs. MAC battle.

From 700,000 unique website visitors, Hunch found that Mac users come off as pretentious but more intelligent than PC users.  PC users tend to be more conservative and older users that prefer the safety of mainstream trends.

Surprisingly, only 25% of the pool claimed they were “Mac People”.  52% declared themselves proudly as “PC People”.  23% claimed that they were not loyal to either brand.

So are you a Mac or PC person?  Take a look for yourself…
