April 6th, 2011 – As part of the Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Muthaiga has partnered with several organizations to hold its annual charity golf tournament whose proceeds will be channeled towards community projects spread across the country.
The 18-hole tournament which will be held on April 8, at the Royal Club, will feature 40 teams, consisting of 4 players per team. Various hole-specific challenges will be held during the tournament which will be open to all participants.
The proceeds will be used to fund community service projects which include public health and sanitation, healthcare, school literacy projects, vocational training, environmental rehabilitation and disaster relief initiatives.
“We realize that there is need to help the less fortunate in the society and ensure that we never lose the humanity in us while on the rush of achieving our own dreams, this tournament is an indication of the commitment we have to the society,” says Fahima Zein RC Muthaiga President.
She said she is confident that the tournament will grow and the club will be able to reach out more Kenyans and fund more projects making life easier for many Kenyans who lack common life necessities.
