February 9, 2011 – eCAP (electronic Community Action Plan) East Africa has officially launched its services in Nairobi, in partnership with Education Finder AB.
It’s been launched with the aim of encouraging youthful participants and “teach them about the use of information to guide their organizations to achieve greater success, revenue growth, and competitiveness”, according to Anne Kagiri, Project Manager at eCap East Africa.
In a nutshell, this initiative utilizes the Community to engage people whilst encouraging a consolidation of ideas.
After a very successful 2010, the organization is seeking to extend its services in the Kenyan market from its current markets (Finland and Sweden) whilst expanding into additional territories in Europe, Africa and the rest of the world.
eCAP director Eva Kagiri says; “Now is the perfect time for us to launch our programmes in Kenya. MKFC StockholmHelsinki College, the education development branch of Education Finder and eCAP, has designed e-courses online that address a wide range of interests and which can promote economic growth. Our main interest is to promote and capitalize on knowledge and our method – Learning by Doing. As a result, we have formed various partnerships with Higher learning institutions in Finland and Sweden, Non-Governmental Organisations, Social Enterprises and Businesses… Courses include Community Development, Sustainable Tourism, Designing Web and Mobile Applications, Business Project Development, Environment & Sustainable Development.”
MKFC Stockholm college was founded 1991 as an Adult Education School to educate immigrants coming from developing countries in Sweden. In 2001, it became a 100% eLearning institution and has remained as the only one of the kind in Sweden. More than 6,000 people have studied online through MKFC Stockholm College, with 95% throughput.
In 2008, the college opened a branch in Helsinki, MKFC Helsinki College and at the same time formed Education Finder responsible for expanding their e-courses and expertise outside of Sweden.
eCap East Africa is a partner and representative of Education Finder in East Africa, and has a number of eLearning programs in Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
“In this environment, learning and talent executives have to be strategists and advisors, looking at today’s best practices and building what will be needed tomorrow,” commented Anne Kagiri.
