Local IT firm wins HP award

December 20, 2010 – Seven Seas Technologies, a locally owned Integrated IT systems solutions provider has been named as this year’s HP Software partner of the year award recipient in Barcelona Spain.

To win the highly coveted award from HP, one of the world’s leading enterprise software developers, Seven Seas Technologies managed to beat a strong field of IT solutions providers in the Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa region.

Speaking in Nairobi, Seven Seas Technologies CEO Michael Macharia expressed delight at his firm’s win during the HP Software Universe event for 2010, which he described as an affirmation of Seven Seas Technologies global benchmark.

“The news from Barcelona confirming our win in such a highly coveted and prestigious global convention speaks volumes of our international recognition,” Macharia said.

“It’s also a clear vote of confidence on Kenya as an emerging Silicon Valley rivalling counterparts in India and even Silicon Valley itself.”

In the run up to winning the HP Software Partner of the Year Award in the Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa region, SST, working under the professional services team from HP, effectively facilitated the deployment of a Composite Application Management (CAM) solution which is based on HP Business Technology optimisation (BTO).

Such a CAM solution comprises of a suite of applications that help System Administrators proactively monitor and isolate problems, besides identifying composite application root causes. The solution also helps manage and monitor other applications such as CRMs, service oriented architecture (SoA) applications among others.
