September 30, 2010 – The month of September has been branded the new month of love by the Mavuno church crew and it has been a great month for spreading some love all over the city.
The crew as they have helped “spread the love” through a campaign dubbed Spread the Love.
The campaign whose aim is to ensure that love is spread through action and not just by saying has mainly been involved in making our city a better place by encouraging people from all corners of the city to touch the lives of the people around them and their environs.
From carrying out cleaning campaigns to, giving old buildings, schools and police stations facelifts.
Collecting books and clothing and food for the less fortunate…and many more activities that have helped put smiles on people’s faces.
It’s been all about putting love in action. Working together to create a positive social change with a vision aimed at seeing the society transformed for the people by loving one person at a time.
Last years event saw Kirk Franklin featured as the top entertainer and the Ksh2 Million collected went towards buying beds and mattresses for inmates at the Industrial area Remand prison.
This year’s big event will see quite a number of top artists performing at the big celebration on Saturday the 2nd of October. With the likes of International gospel musician Dietrick Haddon featuring Javen backed by the Aaron Rimbui Funk Unit, Kanjii, Atemi, The Villagers, Daddy Owen, Juliani among others.
The concert will see people coming together and celebrating the collective effort in a colourful event at the Impala grounds which promises to be full of colour, joy, laughter as well as lots of LOVE.
And the proceeds from the colourful celebration event will go towards further rehabilitating the Industrial Area Remand Prison
