September 6, 2010 – Monyetta Shaw is pregnant with Ne-Yo’s child. She should be giving birth in January of next year. Ne-Yo recently gave an interview to Cleveland’s 107.9 Radio Station. I don’t even know where to begin. I understand that men are scared of marriage. But shouldn’t you be more scared of having a baby with someone you are not ready to marry? Just seems like such a disconnect. If I were her I’d feel really disrespected, best friend or not. Anyway, here’s a bit of what he had to say:
I am not engaged to be married but I am about to have my first child. I was never engaged. I’m having a child with my best friend on the face of the planet. She’s a beautiful person and yes, we’re about to have a baby. We are not engaged, we have never been engaged.
A lot of people have different opinions about our relationship but I’ll put it to you like this “She knows where my heart is at”. She thinks like me: Your soul is the driver and your body is the car, as long as I know where your soul is at, as long as I know where your heart is at, I don’t give a damn about the car. Plus, she knows that I’m not out here sluttin’ out every night either. She’s not tripping off trying to make me be anything that I am not ready to be. She’s not tripping off titles. She’s like “I know where your heart is at, you tell me that its love and I believe you”, and she knows that its love because she gets everything.
Why don’t you do the “When Harry met Sally” and take it to the next level?
Because I’m not ready to go there yet. I’m not ready yet. I can be 100% honest with her and the whole world when I say “I’m not ready to go there yet”. The last thing that I’m gonna do is claim that I’m ready to go there and then mess it up. I’m gonna wait until I’m all the way ready, she’s being patient with me so we’re good! It is where it is!
