August 23, 2010 – Last Saturday, at the Braeburn auditorium the outgoing Miss Kenya 2009/2010 Miss Fiona Konchela handed over her crown to 20-year-old Natasha Metto.

Natasha came out tops after battling it out with eleven other beauties and a stiff competition it was. Miss Metto is also the proud owner of a brand new Toyota IST.

The newly crowned beauty queen was rendered speechless after her win and she could only say, “I have no words to describe what I’m feeling right now.” But she was clearly overjoyed with her prestigious new title.

She will represent Kenya at the 2010 Miss World beauty pageant to be held in Sanya, China on October 31.

The entertainment for the evening was characterized by some of the pageant contestants showed off their various talents in music and dance.

And after deliberating at length the judges who included Miss World Kenya Franchise holder Terry Mungai, former model Tracy Ombajo, Nthenya Masyuko- CEO of the Orange company, Lyndsey McIntyre, model Derrick Asetto, and Robert Derby, decided that Natasha takes the crown home and was best suited to represent Kenya in China come October.

The beauty queens went through a long and rigorous process that saw them take up residence in a house and evicted on a weekly basis, until from an original number of 24, only 12 models were left for the main competition – the catwalk on Saturday.

It takes some patience to fully understand and appreciate me, but don’t all truly good things require that?”

Other awards for the day included: Miss Photogenic, which was won by 19-year-old Faith, Best Sports Award which went to 22-year-old Mercy, the Best Outfit (which will also be worn by Natasha at the Miss World event in China) was a dress designed by Dola Creations and was showcased by 22-year-old Evangeline.
