MTV extends reach in Tanzania

August 11, 2010 – Clouds TV launch will include strong music offering with daily programme blocks from MTV Base.

Tanzanian free-to-air TV channel Clouds TV is to reinforce its strong music heritage thanks to a new content deal with MTV Networks Africa.

Starting 10 August 2010, Clouds TV viewers will be able to tune in to 2 hours a day of high quality music and lifestyle programming from pan-African music channel MTV base.  MTV base programming will air Monday to Sunday between 18:00 to 19:00 (Tanzania local time) with a further late-night slot at 22:00 to 23:00 every day of the week.

The MTV base blocks on Clouds TV provide an appealing daily dose of targeted music and entertainment programming for youth and young adult viewers.  In the early evenings, programming will consist of half an hour of Big Base Beats followed by 30 minutes of international reality and lifestyle programming such as Run’s House, My Super Sweet 16 and Pimp My Ride, while the late-night slot will focus on African music programmes such as African Allstars, MVP; Most Voted Playlist, Retrobase, the Official African Chart and 10 Biggest Tracks Right Now.
