Campaigns at Co-Operative University College were suspended after an overloaded minibus tipped over, crushing some students underneath. The Rongai-based matatu had been hired by a group of students to campaign for one of the contenders for the position of student chair.
In a video shared on WhatsApp, students are seen hanging from the sides of the Matatu while some were chanting on top of the bus before it lost control.
It is not yet clear how many students have been injured or if there are any fatalities but the driver of Ballistic has been arrested and will be charged in court soon, according to police.
Update: Two students confirmed dead while 20 are being treated in several hospitals in Nairobi
