The United States International University – Africa has planned a demo to protest against attempts by unknown persons grabbing land belonging to the university.

The management has given a notice that they would be holding a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday, 13th July. This is after a large group of armed people invaded the parcel of land located in Muthaiga North and pulled down the university’s demarcations and notices.

Prof Tiyambe Zeleza, the VC of USIU, said the university reported the incident at Kasarani Police Station and Muthaiga Police Station but “the visit (to the police stations) did not yield any fruit.”

“We placed a Caveat Emptor Notice in the Standard on Friday July 8, 2016 notifying the general public that the land is owned by USIU-Africa and is not up for sale,” said Zeleza in a statement.

In the meantime, the University has engaged lawyers expeditiously pursue all the legal avenues available to secure the land.
