  1. University of Cape Town

The University of Cape Town (UCT)  is the highest ranked university in Africa as per the QS World  University rankings.  It was founded in 1929 as The South African College. The main campus, known as Upper Campus, is located on the Rhodes Estate on the slopes of Devil’s Peak. The University boasts approximately 25000 students as per 2012 records.
