Strathmore Scorpions, made easy work of Egyptian club Sharkia with a convincing 5-0 win in Bulawayo’s Khumalo Stadium at the Africa Cup of Club Championship.

Goalie Truphy Oriwa and star forwards, Gilly Okumu and Carol Njoki, ensured Scorpions cruised past the Egyptians in spite of a tense moment at the beginning when Sharkia exerted pressure.

Truphy made several critical saves before her teammates settled in the game and made their first onslaught on the Sharkia goal, only to be let down by poor finishing.

But Gilly got into the goal sheet through a penalty then soon later Carol smashed a screamer past the Sharkia defense and goalie, to make it 2-0.

Scorpions continued to exert pressure after the break and Carol and Gilly added one each, with Amutebi sealing the victory.
