Twitter came alive when Kenyan rapper Sidney Twalib (@Sidneytwal) of Y.B.L (Young Blood Line) dropped his new track “Huddah Monroe”. Rarely does a song spark such online debate on social media. It has to be one of the biggest rap songs dropped this January. It already has over 2300views and counting on YouTube despite not having an official video out yet.
The song has gotten airplay on HBR ‘The Jumpoff ‘after massive requests by listeners. It had everyone tweeting even from The Boss lady herself who appreciated and congratulated the young artists’ success.
The record appeals to a wide audience given its name and relatable lyrics such as, ’all she got she earned watch her spend it like it’s nothing’ to show that Huddah gets her own money and blows it on whatever she feels like. It’s a definite club/ladies song with an addictive hook and lines that you will find yourself head bopping or humming to. The well mixed vocals ride on a heavy trap beat, making it a straight trunk shaker; you will want to play this with the bass turned all the way up.
Is it a miss or a hit?
