Her voice is that kind which gives you goose bumps and reverberates from her soul. With her powerful voice and weighty lyrics, it is no wonder that Cobbs has featured severally on the Billboard 100.
Tasha Cobbs’ song “I’m Getting Ready” recently released in collaboration with Nicki Minaj has many bewildered.
It has received both negative and positive online. It may appear many were quick to judge on the collaboration itself and less about the message it hopes to convey.
The song calls worshippers to stand tall on the promises of God is full of great sound and thoughtful lyrics. Minaj, the “No Frauds” rapper based her rap feature on the 1 Corinthians 2:9 “What no one ever saw or heard, what no ever thought would happen is the very thing God has prepared for those who love him.” With lots of controversy surrounding her name including a Twitter exchange with John Mayor on the 11th of September, it seems that Trinidadian-born Onika is seeking refuge in Christ. One of her most powerful lines in the track has her declaring, “..now praise Him, praise Him, name it, claim it, every tongue that rises up against me, shame it I breathe success in and out my lungs I got the power of life and death coming out of my tongue.”
