Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) hosted the 7th annual women’s championship at Maseno University. The games began on the 9th March and ended on the 11th March. Universities from across the country made their way early in the morning on 9th March for the long-awaited games. The championships brought together private and public universities for the three day- event. Games involved included volleyball, basketball, netball, hockey, soccer, scrabble, athletics, chess, karate, taekwondo, table tennis, long tennis, badminton, and swimming.
The competition that was being sponsored by Coca-Cola company, Equity Bank, Maseno University and Amaco Insurance attracted a large number of students from 14 institutions of higher learning. Some of the Universities that participated were United State International University, University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Embu University, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Mt Kenya University, Pwani University, Chuka University, Rongo University, South Eastern Kenya University, Multimedia University and Daystar University.
While the KUSA National Women’s Championship was going on in Maseno University, went on alongside high school games in Maseno School. The events encouraged cultural exchange and interaction with the various students in attendance.
