Three Universities are set to battle it out in this year’s Samsung Ziki stars competition. The Challenge which kicks off on Thursday will see over one thousand students from Kenyatta University, USIU and Daystar University battling it out for top honours in the creative talent search initiative.

According to the Samsung Ziki Stars organizers, more than five hundred aspiring budding performing artistes at Kenyatta University have already picked up their registration forms ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Music sponsored auditions to be staged at the Kenyatta University auditorium this Thursday.

“Following the success of the initial music talent search editions; Samsung is committed to uncovering genuine, fresh music talent through Zikistar talent search. We have partnered with leading local artistes including Wyre and former Samsung Ziki Star Yvonne Lyra to mentor this year’s winners,” said Samsung Electronics East Africa Marketing Director Patricia Kingori.

The competition that enables aspiring artistes to test their skills against other talented musicians comprises of four main stages: Auditions, knockout, Semis and the Grand Finale.

“Unlike other competitions talent search initiatives, the Samsung sponsored challenge provides a forum for rappers to display their prowess in music performance,” said Kevin Wyre.

The grand finale will be held at Skyluxx on the 13th April 2013 and will be staged hot on the heels of the recent confirmation that Universal Music Kleek app will now be available on the Samsung App Store – providing advanced access to music and interviews with artistes.

The Kleek application will be exclusive to Samsung consumers for the first 2 years, giving consumers a head start on the latest and greatest that the music industry has to offer.

The Samsung Galaxy Music runs on the latest operating platform, Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) and boasts some serious features that will make any music mad consumer want to own it.
