Ugandan pop culture icon Bobi Wine has caused a stir, after his wrongful arrest.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, businessman and entrepreneur who was arrested for illegal possession of arms, and has been held at the army barracks awaiting his appearance in front of the Court Marshall. The 36-year-old Kyaddondo East MP, has been the champion for the Ugandan poor and disenfranchised popularising the mantra “People Power, Our Power.” As an entertainer, Kyagulanyi has won 5 awards and is known of several popular tracks including “Jennifer” and “Miss Mbiire.”
As Ugandans and Kenyans on Twitter have continued to support the release of Bobi Wine with the tag #FreeBobiWine, tensions continue to rise in the streets of Kampala with protesters taking the city opposing what they perceive as the illegal detension of Bobi Wine.
On Twitter there have been afew stand out tweets that summarize the situation that has seen Ugandans protest the long authoritarian rule of President Museveni.
Bobi Wine is that one drop of water that is going to cause a the flood.
