The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and Kenyatta University are among the most searched terms in 2014. Google’s list of the top searches in the country shows Kenyans google government websites, football and education institutions.

HELB is the 3rd most searched term this year. The student financing organisation has been in the news for the better part of the year as it struggled to disburse funds to students in good time.

Graduates repaying their loans regularly visit HELB’s website to check outstanding balance. Continuing students also log into their account to check the status of their loan application.

KU has been on a rapid expansion phase with some of the programs and projects launching this year. Thousands of students log in the student portal to register, check their marks and book accommodation online.
