Faced with hyperthyroidism, the Hip Hop legend took time to recover and focus on her health in 2011 before slowly reintergrating herself into the entertainment industry. During the long 7-year hiatus away from music, she took time off mainly appearing on television including participating on the talent show The Voice in 2015 as a mentor assitant and more recently on the hit-show Star as Pumpkin in 2017. Back in the limelight, Missy is not holding back. Rapping, dancing and providing some killer music on her re-entry into the industry, she is definately going to make an impact, clearly #issacomeback. Performing at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles on the 21st of July, Misdemeanor did not disappoint fans. With her set list including “Pass Dat Dutch”, “One Minute Man” and more, she had fans singing along including Queen Beyonce herself, and its easy to see why.

With many fans including powerful siblings such as Beyonce and Solange support her act, even Insecure star and producer Issa Rae recently could not hold back playing dress up as Missy Elliot on a recent shoot. With her last album “The Cookbook” out back in 2005 and last touring in 2010, Missy is set to take over and show the new acts how its ready done.
