Deputy President William Ruto yesterday presented his Ph.D progress report to his supervisors at the University of Nairobi, School of Biological Sciences. The DP posted photos of him meeting UoN Professors Paul Ndegwa and Jenesio Kinyamario. Ruto’s Ph.D thesis is on the impact of human activities on riparian reserves at Saiwa Swamp, Trans Nzoia County.
The deputy president graduated with a B.Sc (Botany and Zoology) degree from UoN in 1990 where he topped his class. During this time, Ruto was the Chairman of the Christian Union.
During university holidays Deputy President Ruto taught in Sergoit and Kamagut secondary schools both in Uasin Gishu County as an untrained teacher.
He enrolled for an Msc degree in 1991 but deferred his research until 2008 when he graduated with a Masters of Science Degree in Plant Ecology.
