At the presentation ceremony which was held on May 10, 2017, Amb. Francis Muthaura, KLL’s Goodwill Ambassador presented the baseball items to Prof. Henry Mutoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs.

“The University has started a curriculum on baseball and softball at the Department of Physical Education and Sport in the College of Education and External Studies,” said the departmental head, Prof. Jacob Nteere.  “The baseball items will come in handy as we train our students on the baseball principles and practice.”

Prof. Mutoro thanked KLL for generously donating the items stating that with the additional resources, the university is better equipped to teach and train baseball. “It would be good if the Department of Physical Education and Sport and the Kenya Little League jointly promote baseball in Kenya,” he said.

Amb. Muthaura stated that KLL is tasked with promoting both baseball and softball in Kenya. “Since its establishment in 2010, the Kenya Little League has managed to promote baseball in primary and secondary schools and colleges a well. We are now looking to promoting it in universities,” he said.

The Ambassador was accompanied by KLL’s President Mr. George Mahinda and Patron Mr. Samuel Kimiti.
