As students the common held standard is that weekends were made for partying. Well, in case you do get tired of partying which you will eventually; there are some other things one can do to make good use of the weekend.
1. Watch a game with friends.
Being a rugby enthusiast, I know too well just how much watching a game live can be. These days there are a variety of sporting events including football and rugby that one can catch in the various stadia across the country with a low entrance fee. This weekend, you can head over to Ngong road to catch the finals of the Impala flood lights which is bound to be entertaining. If you are a football fanatic, the el classico is this weekend where Barcelona will be playing Real Madrid among other EPL games.
2. Get active
Sometimes, one may seek to get more active than live a passive lifestyle. If you are looking for something a bit more interesting you could do with friends, hiking or even horse riding could be a new experience to help you create new memories while staying active. One could even attend a few archery lessons in Karen and learn a skill akin to that used by characters on The Game of Thrones. Furthermore, if you are looking for loads of fun for a whole group of friends why not try paintballing and drive the adrenalin levels up.
3. Get artistic
The weekend is the best time to get some Rest & Relaxation but this does not necessarily mean you lay in bed all day. Getting artistic is a great way to stimulate your brain while forgetting the stresses of the week. Drawing, painting or even jamming with friends if you play an instrument is a sure way of boosts your feel-good hormones leaving you on a high, ready to face the week ahead. It really does not take much to be happy so seek out like minded people and you will be guaranteed a great time.
This is probably one of those aspects of life we do not really appreciate, but it is important for the development of our minds and body. I do recommend sleeping in during weekends, because it is probably the only time one could sleep uninterrupted and truly rest. So make sure you get sleep and enjoy recharging your batteries, after all you do work hard.
5. Cook a meal.
With inflation on the raise and budget constraints getting bigger, having a meal at home is not only a good idea it is also a great way to make major savings. Cooking one of your favorite meals with friends like a barbeque and enjoying a few drinks a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Having your girlfriends over to bake a cake or make cookies can be a simple yet elegant way to reconnect with friends without of spending too much.
Whatever you choose to do over the weekend, make sure that you have fun. Make it count, because once the weekend is gone, you will be wishing for the weekend to come back all over again.
