NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 12 – Airtel Africa has set up Africa Telesonic Limited, a fibre company, to manage its fibre-optic assets in Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Airtel Africa CEO Segun Ogunsanya said that the new entity will address the continent\u2019s growing need for wholesale data by providing full terrestrial fibre and submarine cable solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout a question, Africa is experiencing a digital revolution, with increased demand for data across all industries, particularly among the continent’s rising youth population,\u201d said Ogunsanya CEO Airtel Africa.<\/p>\n

The Telesonic, with over 75,000 kilometers of terrestrial fibre, will operate in all 14 markets of Airtel Africa’s and will boost national economies.<\/p>\n

The established company will also enhance connectivity in key sectors, including education and healthcare, as well as promote improved access and efficiency.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur investment represents not onlyadvancement in technology , but also a catalyst for change, bringing people and ideas together across borders,” stated Ogunsanya.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe establishment of Airtel Africa Telesonic Limited underscores Airtel Africa’s commitment to addressing Africa’s digital revolution needs by providing cutting-edge fibre-optic solutions that will empower businesses, education, healthcare, and communities at large,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
