{"id":88272,"date":"2023-08-29T14:00:23","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T11:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/?p=88272"},"modified":"2023-08-29T12:32:27","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T09:32:27","slug":"cic-insurance-posts-sh1-2-billion-net-profit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/2023\/08\/cic-insurance-posts-sh1-2-billion-net-profit\/","title":{"rendered":"CIC Insurance posts Sh1.2 billion net profit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 29 &#8211; CIC Insurance net profit for the six months ending June grew 153 percent to Sh1.2 billion compared to a similar period last year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The insurer attributes the growth to new initiatives that were introduced earlier, focusing on customer experience, digital transformation, data analytics, and performance management, among others.<\/p>\n<p>General insurance and life assurance earnings grew 21 percent and 23 percent to Sh7 billion and Sh4.3 billion, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To maintain the growth trajectory CIC will continue investing in technology to strengthen performance and achieve customer retention in the long term,&#8221; CIC said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will remain resolute in the implementation of our other various strategies including research and innovation, debt management, cost optimization, risk, compliance, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration among others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The insurer&#8217;s subsidiaries in Uganda, South Sudan, and Malawi contributed 10 percent to the group\u2019s earnings in the review period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 29 &#8211; CIC Insurance net profit for the six months ending June grew 153 percent to Sh1.2 billion compared to a similar period last year.
