{"id":76849,"date":"2022-03-16T09:56:44","date_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:56:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/?p=76849"},"modified":"2022-03-16T13:23:26","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T10:23:26","slug":"4g-capital-closes-series-funding-with-usd18-5bn-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/2022\/03\/4g-capital-closes-series-funding-with-usd18-5bn-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"4G capital closes Series funding with USD18.5mn investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, March 16 &#8211;\u00a0 4G Capital has completed its Series C funding round with Light rock, a global private equity fund, investing\u00a0 USD 18.5 million dollars. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 2013, 4G Capital has loaned over 1,750,000 small business working capital loans valued at over USD230 million.<\/p>\n<p>The company has over 240,000 clients, 81 percent of whom are female, with 77 percent running micro and SME enterprises in rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>The investment will allow 4G Capital to scale its last-mile finance and enterprise training solutions to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Kenya and Uganda, expanding its use of digital channels and data science to complement its hybrid \u2018touch-tech\u2019 approach.<\/p>\n<p>The company will expand its Kuza retail finance service to help store-owners, FMCGs and distributors boost their sales.<\/p>\n<p>Kuza is a pure fintech plug-and-play service, allowing distributors to stock entrepreneurs using 4G Capital\u2019s credit, rather than traditional cash on delivery.
