NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 18 – Tala has announced the temporally\u00a0end of its operations in Tanzania. <\/b><\/p>\n

In a statement, the company says that it has paused its operations after conducting a pilot of its credit service, adding that it is undertaking a review of its operations to determine the way forward.<\/p>\n

Customers with outstanding balances have however not been spared and will have to pay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appreciate the opportunity to serve you and wish our loyal customers continued success in your financial journeys,\u201d the company says in a statement.<\/p>\n

Kenya remains the American startup\u2019s biggest market with over 2.5 million customers. The company also has operations in Mexico and Philippines.<\/p>\n
