10,722 new vehicles were sold in 2017 compared to 13,535 units in 2016.<\/p><\/div>\n

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 31 –\u00a0All vehicle vendors except DT Dobie lost ground in 2017 with the year closing 20 percent lower compared to 2016 on vehicle orders, according to an industry report.<\/strong><\/p>\n

10,722 new vehicles were sold in 2017 compared to 13,535 units in 2016, with buyers purchasing 888 vehicles in December down 4 percent same period the previous year.<\/p>\n

With a market\u00a0share of 35.3 percent, Isuzu East Africa sold 3,783 vehicles in 2017 while Toyota Kenya sold 2,235 vehicles.<\/p>\n

Fuso shed off 30 percent of sales year on year to sell 1,222 units with DT Dobie, behind CMC and Tata, sold 507 units, an increase of 7pc.<\/p>\n

Formerly known as General Motors East Africa, Isuzu – the franchise holder of Isuzu and Chevrolet models – also dominated the export market with 150 units.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
