Prior to her appointment, Gecaga was the Marketing and Special Programmes advisor to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Tourism\/COURTESY<\/p><\/div>NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 4 – Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has appointed Nana Gecaga the acting Managing Director of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) effective April 1, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prior to her appointment, Gecaga was the Marketing and Special Programmes advisor to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Tourism.<\/p>\n

Before that, she worked at KICC as Head of Marketing. <\/p>\n

She has previously worked with international firms on various projects aimed at marketing Kenya globally as a preferred tourism destination.<\/p>\n

Gecaga has been instrumental in bidding for International conferences to Kenya having secured the bid to host the MTV Africa Music awards in 2009.<\/p>\n

She will use her vast experience in international marketing to bid and position Kenya as attractive location for Meetings, Incentives Travel, Conferences and Exhibition, (MICE) tourism.<\/p>\n

She will be responsible for coordinating the two main upcoming international conferences, The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) scheduled for July and August 2016 respectively.<\/p>\n

Gecaga holds a degree in Marketing from the American Intercontinental University, London.<\/p>\n
