{"id":114053,"date":"2026-04-01T09:35:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T06:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/?p=114053"},"modified":"2026-04-01T09:15:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T06:15:25","slug":"under-40s-drive-money-market-funds-uptake-stanchart-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/2026\/04\/under-40s-drive-money-market-funds-uptake-stanchart-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Under 40s drive money market funds uptake, StanChart report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, April 1 &#8211; First-time investors under 40 are increasingly shaping Kenya\u2019s investment landscape, with a strong preference for money market funds (MMFs), according to Standard Chartered Bank.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lender says the trend reflects a generational shift toward early wealth creation, with younger investors opting for simple, accessible, and liquid financial products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout 67% of our Shilingi Funds investors are under 40 years old, making younger investors the fastest-growing segment in our wealth management portfolio,\u201d said Orero Ouma, Head of Wealth Management Solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese investors are looking for a foundation product that is simple, accessible, and allows them to start building wealth early,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The report highlights growing financial awareness among younger Kenyans, supported by increased use of digital platforms.
