{"id":113750,"date":"2026-03-23T10:16:31","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T07:16:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/?p=113750"},"modified":"2026-03-23T11:20:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T08:20:38","slug":"kenya-remittances-drop-sh21-6bn-in-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/2026\/03\/kenya-remittances-drop-sh21-6bn-in-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenya remittances drop Sh21.6bn in March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 23 \u2013 Money sent home by Kenyans abroad declined by Sh21.6 billion on March 16, 2026, according to new data from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The inflows stood at Sh1.85 trillion last week, down from Sh1.87 trillion recorded in a similar period in March 12, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>CBK noted that the country\u2019s foreign exchange reserves remain stable despite the dip in remittances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe foreign exchange reserves remained adequate at USD 14,294 million (6.1 months of import cover) as of March 18.
