LONDON, Mar 28 – British Airways cabin crew have voted in favour of more strikes in a bitter row over pay and perks, the Unite trade union announced on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unite said in a statement that just under 10,000 staff were balloted on whether they would take part in strikes. Of the 6,981 ballots returned and counted, 83 percent voted \\’yes\\’ to industrial action.<\/p>\n

"This vote shows that cabin crew remain determined to win justice," said Unite general secretary Len McCluskey in the statement. No possible strike dates were named.<\/p>\n

"We urge BA\\’s boardroom to see this as a clear message that they must think again about how to regain the trust and confidence of a significant part of their cabin crew operation.<\/p>\n

"We continue to be in discussions with the company to find a solution to this long-running dispute."<\/p>\n

In response, BA stressed that it remained in talks with Unite over the dispute.<\/p>\n

"This is a time for co-operation, not confrontation. We began talks with Unite earlier this month, and those talks are continuing," a BA spokesman said.<\/p>\n
