{"id":102025,"date":"2024-12-14T20:07:09","date_gmt":"2024-12-14T17:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/?p=102025"},"modified":"2024-12-14T20:07:09","modified_gmt":"2024-12-14T17:07:09","slug":"epra-cuts-petrol-price-by-sh4-37-diesel-and-kerosene-by-sh3-each","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/business\/2024\/12\/epra-cuts-petrol-price-by-sh4-37-diesel-and-kerosene-by-sh3-each\/","title":{"rendered":"EPRA cuts petrol price by Sh4.37, diesel and kerosene by Sh3 each"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 13 &#8211; The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has cut fuel prices, offering reprieve to motorists, households and firms.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In its latest monthly fuel review, a liter of petrol will now cost Sh4.37 less, with kerosene and diesel also dropping by Sh3 each.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Petrol decreased by 4.46% from US$641.14 per cubic metre in October 2024 to US$612.53 per cubic metre in November 2024; Diesel increased by 5.76% from US$608.61 per cubic metre to US$643.69 per cubic metre, while Kerosene increased by 1.87% from US$648.15 per cubic metre to US$660.30 per cubic metre over the same period,&#8221; EPRA said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, a liter of Super petrol will from midnight retail at Sh176.29, diesel at Sh165.06, and kerosene at Sh148.39.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The decline comes at a time when Kenya\u2019s inflation remains low amid falling fuel prices as well as food commodities.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the country&#8217;s inflation stood at 2.7 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 13 &#8211; The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has cut fuel prices, offering reprieve to motorists, households and firms.
