Tatu City, AAR in a 3-year deworming program in Kiambu government’s schools

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 28 – Tatu City has announced a partnership with AAR Healthcare Limited in a three-year school deworming program in six government primary schools in Kiambu County.

According to the sustainability and corporate partnerships manager at Tatu City, Angela Muthonga, the joint program would be fundamental in addressing worm infections that are most prevalent in children.

“Children are the most vulnerable to worm infections, which affect their health and hinder their ability to learn and thrive in school. By partnering with AAR Health Care Limited, we aim to tackle this issue head-on and ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” she stated.

In a joint press statement, the two organizations asserted that the program would promote the health and well-being of the children.

“The initiative is part of Tatu City’s broader Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) strategy, benchmarked on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focused on four key pillars: Community, Health, Education, and Conservation,” the statement read.

The two organizations will further form alliances in other health initiatives, which include basic health education, menstrual hygiene, outreach programs, and career talks.

According to the ESG coordinator at AAR Healthcare Kenya Limited, Gertrude Nyanzi, AAR is committed to promoting environmental well-being, which is closely linked to human health.

“At AAR Healthcare Kenya, we believe environmental well-being is closely linked to human health. Our Trees for Health program aims to promote environmental conservation and community health. By partnering with Tatu City, we can extend our reach and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in Kenya,“ he stated.
