NAIROBI, Kenya, May 22 – SBM Bank Kenya Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Moezz Mir is among the top African bankers eyeing the prestigious African Banker of the Year award organized by African Banker magazine.
The awards recognize the best individuals and institutions driving Africa’s fast-changing financial services sector.
It is designed to recognize the reforms, rapid modernization, consolidation, integration, and expansion of Africa’s banking and financial system.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held on May 24th, 2023, at the Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only in Egypt.
Others nominated in the same category are Trade and Development Bank Managing Director Admassu Tadesse and African Export and Import Bank President Benedict Oramah.
Co-operative Bank of Kenya’s Head of Agriculture Business, Esther Kariuki, Othman Benjelloun of Bank of Africa, and Yemi Edun of First City Monument Bank also feature in the list.
Under the bank of the year category, Kenya’s Co-operative Bank will square off with Afreximbank, Bank of Africa, and the Mauritius Commercial Bank, among others, for the top accolade.
