BuuPass introduces an online ticketing platform for Ugandans

Online ticketing platform BuuPass has unveiled an online ticketing platform, allowing Ugandans to book bus and flight tickets.

This comes after the firm a few months ago rolled out a Business-to-Business (B2B) solutions for transport operators in the country.

The new solution will make it easy for locals to book tickets online seamlessly.

“After launching our B2B solution for transport operators in Uganda a few months ago. We have launched our B2C service for travel ticket bookings in Uganda, getting closer to our mission of making long-distance transport more accessible and seamless,” the firm said on its LinkedIn page.

BuuPass was founded by Wyclife Omondi and Sonia Kabara in 2016.

They met while studying at the Earlham College, USA, under an undergraduate scholarship programme. Whereas Sonia studied Biochemistry, Omondi did a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

The platform offers Bus Management Solution (BMS), a fleet management solution where bus operators can schedule their fleet, manage their operations and sell tickets, which completely replaces pen and paper ticketing.

The firm has developed ticketing solutions for Standard Gauge Railways (Madaraka Express) and several bus companies such as Easy Coach Limited and Modern Coast Express.
